Welcome to Great Oaks Farm!

About Us

We are a small family farm in the midlands of South Carolina. We originally started out in Southern Maine, but moved to the bible belt in 2019. Bringing an already established herd of Nigerian dwarf goats, our draft mare, and our 4 dogs. We’ve since been slowly turning our 50 acre abandoned chicken farm into our small family homestead. We now have over 60 chickens, 60 quail, 3 milk cows and 3 steers, our old draft mare that came with us from ME, and our 8 goats we brought have multiplied into over 20. We also seasonally raise pigs, turkeys, and broiler (meat) chickens and tend an ever growing garden in the summer. In the summer of 2022 we bought our own haying equipment for the first time and bailed our own bales for the first time. We’ve been haying with other farms for years, but having our own equipment is a huge achievement for us! The men in our family work doing tree services, sawing, and firewood, and the women in baking, canning, and soap crafting. The farm is a whole family effort with each member having their own animals they raise and care for. We are Christian’s and believe that God’s natural means of food and hygiene are best. So we consume daily raw dairy, our own fresh produce and meats, and have even started our own natural skin care products. Follow along with us on our homesteading journey. Be sure to check out our Youtube channel where we share homesteading tips and just enjoy sharing our farm life with everyone. God bless!
